WRAP After School Program
Washington Regional Afterschool Project (WRAP)
The Washington RegionalAfterschool Project (WRAP) is a collaborative partnership to increase the quality and availability of programs for school-age children and youth in Washington State. School’s Out Washington, the lead agency for this project, works with five other organizations to link communities with resources. We provide professional development opportunities for program staff. We also broaden involvement in planning for regional youth services and building a system of out-of-school time care.

A regional approach to building a system of care for kids
There are six WRAP geographic regions. Each region has a WRAP specialist who is based at a regional partner agency. The WRAP specialist can support your community’s efforts by:
· Bringing together key individuals to develop a plan for ensuring that young people have safe places to go when they are not in school.
· Coordinating workshops, conferences and networking opportunities as well as distributing funding information. These can provide critical support to professionals and improve the quality of programs.
· Working one-on-one with new and expanded programs to assist them in meeting training goals and implementing a self-study and program improvement process.
· Educating community members — educators, law enforcement officials, businesses, social service agencies, public health and others — about the importance of quality out-of-school time activities.
