The field of youth development and the professional youth development worker has a growing body of knowledge to rely on. This includes research across multidisciplinary perspectives drawing from family and consumer sciences, nutrition and health, education, sociology, and psychology. Much of the information presented here provides innovative research and practical application of that knowlege focused to the development of school-aged youth through the transition to adulthood.
